Orlando Park Ride Tragedy: Parents Receive $310 Million Settlement

A Florida jury awarded $310 million to the family of 14-yr-old Tyre Sampson, who died after falling from the Free Fall Tower ride at Orlando’s ICON Park in 2022. His parents, Nekia Dodd and Yarnell Sampson, will receive $155 million each from Funtime, the ride’s manufacturer. The family now faces the challenge of pursuing damages through an Austrian court after Funtime failed to appear in court.
