Centre To Amend J&K Reorganisation Act For ‘One Nation, One Poll’ Initiative

The Centre plans to amend the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, aligning the Union Territory’s electoral cycle with the ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative. A bill will also revise laws for Delhi and Puducherry to synchronize assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Union Law Minister Arjun Meghwal will introduce the amendments in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
