After the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s defeat in Maharashtra’s Assembly polls, Congress chief Nana Patole resigned. The party secured only 16 out of 103 contested seats, with Patole narrowly winning his own seat by 208 votes. Despite leading a strong Lok Sabha campaign, Patole’s leadership faced internal friction, especially with Shiv Sena and NCP. The BJP-led Mahayuti secured a landslide with 232 seats.
