SC Rejects Urgent Hearing On Cow Slaughter Ban Plea

The Supreme Court refused urgent hearing of a PIL seeking enforcement of anti-cow slaughter laws ahead of ‘Bakrid,’ citing no urgency. The bench of CJI Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi made the remark. Filed by Satish Kumar Aggarwal, the plea also sought directions to states to regulate slaughterhouses and ensure strict compliance with existing laws.
