The biggest-ever deal for India’s indigenous fighter, 97 Tejas Mark-1A jets, is set to be signed today between the Ministry of Defence and HAL, Defence sources said. Valued at ₹66,500 crore, the announcement comes a day before the IAF retires its last MiG-21 squadrons. It follows a Feb 2021 agreement for 83 Tejas jets worth ₹46,898 crore, which faced delays.
