The PLI scheme for solar manufacturing has created about 43,000 jobs in India, including 11,200 direct jobs. Gujarat leads with over 22,400 jobs, followed by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The scheme supports large solar module factories and aims to expand India’s manufacturing capacity. India’s solar production may reach 165 GW by 2027.
