The US returned over 1,400 looted Indian antiquities, valued at $10 million, including a sandstone sculpture from Madhya Pradesh and a Tanesar Mother Goddess statue. These items, smuggled in the 1960s and 1980s, were seized from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. The repatriation was part of ongoing efforts to combat antiquities trafficking, with more than 600 additional artifacts set to return soon.
