Bombay HC Issues Notices After HDFC Bank Employee Steals ₹3 Crore

On December 3, the Bombay High Court issued notices to HDFC Bank and the RBI after a bank employee was arrested for stealing ₹3 crore from a customer’s fixed deposits. Meenakshi Kapuria’s complaint revealed that her relationship manager, Payal Kothari, broke her fixed deposits and transferred the money to fake accounts, later moving it to Kothari’s own accounts without alerts to Kapuria.
