Over 67% Of India’s Sewer Workers Belong To SC Category

According to official data, over 67% of sewer and septic tank workers (SSWs) in India belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. Out of 54,574 workers profiled under the NAMASTE scheme, 37,060 are from SCs. The remaining workers include 15.73% OBCs, 8.31% STs, and 8.05% from the General category, as reported by Union Minister Ramdas Athawale.
