Mild Earthquake Of 3.1 Magnitude Hits Bhutan

A mild earthquake of 3.1 magnitude struck Bhutan early this morning, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said. The quake struck at a depth of just 5 km. Such shallow earthquakes pose a greater risk because the tremors reach the surface quickly and buildings collapse swiftly. However, there is currently no evidence of any loss of life or property.
