SC Backs Voters’ Right During SIR, Cites Fair Rolls

The Supreme Court today said voters have a continuing right to remain on electoral rolls, while hearing pleas against deletions during West Bengal’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The bench led by CJI Surya Kant stressed that the process must not be influenced by election pressure, and authorities cannot ignore constitutional and emotional voter rights.
