The Sensex and Nifty opened at fresh record levels in early trade on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The Sensex started trading today at 74311.61, down at 1,173.71 points or 1.60%, and the Nifty was at 22536.95, down at 375.35 points or 1.69%. Meanwhile, the Indian rupee was trading today at 85.83 against the dollar.
