Parliament Set To Approve Amaravati As Capital Today

The Indian Parliament will introduce a Bill today to officially name Amaravati as Andhra Pradesh’s sole capital. This 2026 amendment changes the 2014 Reorganisation Act to provide legal clarity. The move follows a state assembly request to finalize the capital’s status, ensuring Amaravati is recognized as the seat of government starting from June 2024.
