IRCTC Cancellation Policy: Know Your Refunds For Train Tickets

During festive seasons, train ticket cancellations can be common. Indian Railways has specific refund policies based on the timing of cancellation. If you cancel a confirmed ticket more than 48 hours before departure, charges range from ₹60 to ₹240. For cancellations within 48 hours, fees increase to 25% or 50% of the fare. RAC and waitlisted tickets can be canceled 30 minutes before departure for a ₹60 fee.
