China Conducts Live-Fire Drills Near Taiwan 

China conducted live-fire drills off its southern Fujian province aimed at Taiwan, just a week after a large-scale military exercise in response to Taiwan’s president rejecting Beijing’s sovereignty claims. The drills near the Pingtan Islands occurred from 9 am to 1 pm, with the Maritime Safety Administration warning ships to stay clear. Taiwan’s Defense Ministry is monitoring the situation.
