Chennai experienced heavy rain on Wednesday night, leading to severe waterlogging in various areas. The downpour began after 6 PM and persisted late into the night, causing power outages and traffic congestion throughout the city. From 8:30 AM yesterday to 5:30 AM today, Nungambakkam recorded 7.42 cm of rainfall, while Menambakkam saw 7.12 cm. Nearby districts also faced heavy rain.
