The IMD has forecast rainfall across parts of Tamil Nadu in the next few days after the onset of southwest monsoon in Kerala. An orange alert has been issued for Kanyakumari, Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, where rain accompanied by thunderstorms, and gusty winds of 50 kmph is expected. Light rainfall has also been predicted for Puducherry and Karaikal.
