Senior Congress leader and former Odisha MLA Akshay Kumar Acharya, 78, passed away today, January 2, after battling cancer. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a son. Elected from Nilgiri constituency in 1980 and 1995, Acharya’s death was condoled by leaders including CM Mohan Charan Majhi and Naveen Patnaik. Cremation will be in Nilgiri.
