India Sees 9.4% Drop In Foreign Tourists In 2025

Foreign tourist arrivals to India fell 9.4% in 2025 to 90.2 lakh, mainly due to a 73% drop in visitors from Bangladesh after visa restrictions amid tensions. Excluding Bangladesh, arrivals grew 4.25%. The US, UK, Australia, and Canada were top sources. Outbound Indian tourists grew 5.9%, mostly visiting the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
