Brazil Joins India As Second BRICS Nation To Opt Out Of China’s BRI

Brazil has opted out of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), becoming the second BRICS country after India to do so. President Lula da Silva’s adviser, Celso Amorim, stated that Brazil aims to enhance relations with China without formal treaty commitments. This decision undermines China’s plans to highlight Brazil’s participation during President Xi Jinping’s upcoming visit on Nov 20.
