Bombay HC Orders Release Of Seized EVMs Before Maharashtra Elections

The Bombay High Court has ordered the release of 1,944 EVMs and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) held by a District Election Officer in Maharashtra for the upcoming Assembly elections. The decision came after no objections were raised by leaders from Shiv Sena (UBT) or BJP. The Election Commission stated the machines were not central to any ongoing election petition.
