Today marks 16 years since KCR’s hunger strike for a separate Telangana. On this day in 2009, KCR was arrested by the police at Alugunur while he was going from Karimnagar to Siddipet for a fast. This incident further intensified the Telangana Mali Dasa movement. On the same day, Srikanthachari committed suicide by pouring petrol on himself and died on Dec 3.
