Bangladesh To Discuss Water Sharing With India Amidst Ongoing Teesta Agreement Delays

Bangladesh is set to discuss water sharing of border rivers with India, as announced by the country’s interim govt advisor. During former PM Manmohan Singh’s visit to Dhaka in 2011, an agreement on Teesta water sharing was to be signed between India and Bangladesh. However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee rejected the agreement due to concerns over water scarcity in her state.
