US Strikes Kill IS Militants In Syrian Retaliation

The US conducted air and artillery strikes across central Syria in response to a December 13 attack that killed two soldiers and a civilian. At least five Islamic State members, including a drone cell leader, were killed in Deir Ezzor, Syrian monitors said. The strikes targeted IS cells in Homs, Deir Ezzor, and Raqa without involving ground operations.
