Assam Bans Mahanta Over Zubeen Garg’s Death

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a ban on Shyamkanu Mahanta and his affiliated organizations from hosting events in the state. This follows singer Zubeen Garg’s death by drowning in Singapore on September 19, ahead of his performance at the NortheastFestival. Mahanta has organized the festival since its 2013 inception.
