The ‘Kavach’ automatic train protection system is being installed on India’s major railway routes. Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah routes are 25% complete, with equipment in place. The project deadline is now extended to Dec 2025. Kavach 4.0 is active, covering 15,512 km of tracks with optical fiber, telecom towers, rail lines, and station devices.
