Balasubramanian Chithambaram, an Indian-origin man in Singapore, won a Rs 8.45 crore ($1 million) lottery after purchasing gold jewellery worth Rs 3.7 lakh for his wife at Mustafa Jewellery. The win, announced on November 24, left him both elated and surprised. He plans to donate part of his prize to the community. The news even reached the Singapore High Commission in India, which congratulated him.
