The original Charminar, built in 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, is renowned for its blend of Indo-Islamic and Persian architecture. Historians note its design was inspired by thoughts of the Battle of Karbala. Reflecting deep admiration, migrants from Hyderabad established a replica, “Charminar Chowrangi,” in Karachi’s Bahadurabad in 2007.
