An investment scam using fake celebrity endorsements featured on sites impersonating popular news publishers came to light. The scam even run paid advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. These posts sought to dupe Indians with lucrative returns on investments in commodities, forex, and cryptocurrency. They featured fake endorsement by Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, and Neha Kakkar.
