Jan Vishwas Amendment Bill Presented In Lok Sabha

The govt introduced the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, in the Lok Sabha to decriminalise minor offences and rationalise penalties, promoting ease of doing business and living. While Minister Jitin Prasada highlighted reforms across 79 acts, Congress MPs opposed it, calling it arbitrary and urging a review by parliamentary or select committees.
