Rajasthan Panchayat Bars Women From Using Camera Phones

A village panchayat in Rajasthan’s Jalore district has banned daughters-in-law and young women in 15 villages from using camera phones from January 26. They may only use keypad phones and cannot carry mobiles to public events or neighbours’ homes. Schoolgirls may use phones at home only, citing child eyesight concerns after a community meeting there.
