During 2024–25, 117,369 women and girls went missing in Maharashtra, with 86,228 traced. Urban areas showed higher recovery rates, especially Mumbai. Operation Muskaan has rescued over 41,000 children since 2015. Dedicated Missing Cells in all police stations and continuous monitoring underscore the govt’s focus on children’s safety.
