In a tragic incident in Rochester, New York, two men died from histoplasmosis after using bat faeces as fertilizer for cannabis cultivation. The 59-year-old purchased guano online, while the 64-year-old collected it from his attic. Both inhaled spores from the harmful fungus Histoplasma capsulatum, leading to severe respiratory infections. Despite medical treatment, they succumbed to the infection.
