Probe Finds ₹800-Cr Gold Smuggled Via China Border

An ED probe found over 1,000 kg of gold worth ₹800 crore smuggled into India via the China border during 2023-24. Mastermind Tendu Tashi, aided by Tibetans and a Chinese national, arranged logistics to Delhi jewellers. Payments were made in cryptocurrency. The case began after ITBP seized 108 kg in Ladakh last year, prompting raids.
