SC Flags Electoral Fraud, Seeks Views On Biometrics

The Supreme Court of India issued notices to the Election Commission of India, the center, and the states on a plea by Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay seeking biometric voter checks to curb fraud. A bench of Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi said it won’t apply to ongoing polls but may be examined for future elections across the country.
