HMPV Infections In Gujarat Reach 3 Cases

An 8-year-old boy from Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district has been confirmed with Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) after tests at a government lab. This increases the state’s cases to three. The child, currently hospitalized in Himmatnagar, is stable but on a ventilator. HMPV, a respiratory virus similar to RSV, spreads via droplets or contaminated surfaces. The state’s first case was recorded on January 6.
