Mount Lewotobi Erupts In Indonesia, Triggers Highest Aviation Alert

Mount Lewotobi in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province erupted on Thursday, releasing a column of ash up to 5,000 meters high, prompting the highest aviation alert. The eruption occurred at 10:48 a.m. local time, with ash dispersing to the west, southwest, and north. The volcano remains at the highest alert level, with a danger zone extending 7 km from the crater.
