The govt has ordered households to switch to piped natural gas within three months of notification or lose LPG supply. The move addresses shortages caused by global disruptions. PNG, delivered via pipelines, is considered more reliable. LPG will continue only where PNG is technically unfeasible, subject to approval by the concerned supplier authorities.
