Masked arsonists set fire to the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne’s Ripponlea at 4:10 am on Friday, damaging much of the building. Some congregants were inside at the time, but no serious injuries were reported. A witness who arrived for morning prayers saw 2 masked individuals. Police have condemned the attack, which is under investigation.
