The Rajasthan government today expressed to the assembly that 21 custodial deaths occurred between 2024 and 2025, with eight in 2024 and 13 in 2025. Judicial and administrative inquiries were ordered in all cases. Most deaths were due to natural causes or suicide, with one case recommending departmental action. Nine 2025 cases remain under investigation.
