Amid the US indictment of Gautam Adani in a bribery case, a mysterious Andhra Pradesh government official, referred to as “Foreign Official #1,” has drawn attention. Prosecutors claim that out of Rs 2,029 crore ($265 million) in bribes paid by Adani Group for solar power contracts, Rs 1,750 crore was given to this official. The official’s identity remains undisclosed in court filings.
