Railway Accidents Drop By 70% In A Decade: Union Minister Vaishnaw

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that train accident rates have significantly decreased over the past decade. In a written response to Parliament, he highlighted a 70% reduction in accidents, with 135 incidents reported in 2014-15, dropping to 40 in 2023-24. He attributed most accidents to human errors, including track defects and equipment failures.
