Flood Alert Issued As Poondi Reservoir Water Levels Near Capacity

Water Resources Department (WRD) issued a flood alert on Thursday as the Poondi reservoir’s water level reached 34.05 feet, nearing its maximum capacity of 35 feet. In response, WRD officials announced the release of 1,000 cusecs of water starting at 1:30 pm. Evacuation warnings were issued for villages along the Kosasthalaiyar river, including Nambakkam and Krishnapuram.
