6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Japan’s Noda Region

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Japan’s eastern Noda coast at a depth of 19.3 km, the USGS said. It follows a recent 7.5-magnitude quake that injured over 30 and displaced 90,000. Japan, on the Ring of Fire, frequently experiences tremors, including the deadly 9.0 quake and tsunami of 2011, which killed nearly 20,000 people along coastlines.
