Leticia Paul, a 22-year-old Brazilian lawyer, died after a rare, severe allergic reaction to contrast dye during a routine CT scan. Despite emergency care, she succumbed to anaphylactic shock. The hospital confirmed protocols were followed. Experts say such life-threatening reactions to iodinated contrast are extremely rare, occurring in roughly 1 in 5,000 to 10,000 patients.
