The first phase of the India-US bilateral trade agreement is nearing closure, set to address steep reciprocal tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, an official said. The tranche focuses on resolving the 25-50% duties on Indian goods. Six negotiation rounds are complete, with both sides aiming to finalise the first package by fall 2025.
