Mandatory Hallmarking To Give Every Silver Unique ID

The Bureau of Indian Standards plans new rules to protect buyers as silver prices rise sharply. Hallmarking, now optional, will soon become mandatory. Every silver item will get a unique ID. This will help customers verify purity easily and ensure a clear quality guarantee while buying silver jewelry, coins, and other products across markets nationwide.
