No Guidelines Issued To States To Implement Uniform Civil Code: Center

The Indian government denied issuing guidelines for implementing a uniform civil code (UCC) in states. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal clarified that no such guidelines were provided. He quoted B.R. Ambedkar, stating that the Constitution’s Article 44 encourages a uniform code. PM Modi also expressed support for discussions on the UCC, with Uttarakhand recently implementing its own version.
