Lion ‘Sheryaar’ Goes Missing, Found Safe In Safari Zone

A five-year-old lion, Sheryaar, at Chennai’s Vandalur Zoo went missing on October 3, prompting an overnight search. Brought from Bannerghatta Park in 2023, he was later found safe within the secured 50-acre safari zone. Officials deployed drones, camera traps, and monitoring teams. The zoo said such behaviour is normal, with lions returning within days.
