Many motorists tend to fill their fuel tanks completely at petrol stations, but the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas advises against it. Keeping some space in the tank is recommended, as fuel expands with rising temperatures, increasing the risk of accidents. Similar to LPG, petrol can expand, making overfilling potentially dangerous.
